Reviewing NFL Week 6, including HOF comebacks and more overtime

Quarterbacks still can’t be stopped. The San Francisco 49ers were getting decent quarterback play from C.J. Beathard (2 TD, 245 pass yards), but a late INT set up Green Bay QB Aaron Rodgers. The Kansas City Chiefs looked like they would win in New England again, with QB Patrick Mahomes II racking up a 40-piece for his team. But Patriots QB Tom Brady had his second straight game of 340+ pass yards to set up a 43-40 final.

The NFL had yet another overtime game in Week 6, with the Miami Dolphins breaking out “Strock” Osweiler to outlast the visiting Chicago Bears. That bye week did not help the Bears; maybe they were still hibernating, because the Dolphins had no problems moving the ball and protecting the passer.

Teams of the Week:

NE, BAL, HOU, LAC
WAS, GB, ATL, LA

Winning units:

PHI offensive line (QB Carson Wentz)
ATL offensive line (QB Matt Ryan)
PIT run offense (RB James Conner)
LAC run offense (RB Melvin Gordon)
HOU pass rush (CB Johnathan Joseph)
MIA pass offense (WR Albert Wilson)
MIN run offense (RB Latavius Murray)
NYJ offensive line (QB Sam Darnold)
SEA pass offense (WR David Moore)
WAS special teams (K Dustin Hopkins)
LA run defense (FS Lamarcus Joyner)
DAL run offense (RB Ezekiel Elliott)
BAL run defense (OLB Za’Darius Smith)
NE run offense (RB Sony Michel)
GB pass offense (WR Davante Adams)

Looking ahead to Week 7

Open Dates – Green Bay, Oakland, Pittsburgh, Seattle:
We covered the Packers earlier, and while they’re probably fortunate to be over .500, they also survived Rodgers’ injured. The Raiders have declared war on GM Reggie McKenzie’s first round picks. The Steelers keep manufacturing drama and it will be great for them to disappear for a week. As far as Seattle – RIP Paul Allen.

Broncos at Arizona: Denver head coach Vance Joseph better win. May I suggest QB Chad Kelly? We’ll also learn if Arizona RB David Johnson will ever get it going this season.

Titans at Chargers: Early morning London game! Tennessee’s offensive line has slipped in a major way, and even without DE Joey Bosa, the Los Angeles Chargers don’t offer much relief there.

Saints at Baltimore: New Orleans QB Drew Brees has yet to win a start against the Ravens. The game is outdoors, so expect a defensive struggle.

Bengals at Kansas City: The Chiefs get to try to win again in primetime, and they’re hosting notoriously bad primetime road performer QB Andy Dalton.

Giants at Atlanta: Throw the ball to Julio Jones.
