Looking ahead to Week 14

Cowboys at Chicago: It was a great Thanksgiving in America when the Cowboys picked up 32 first downs and lost anyway. The Bears don’t have a winning record, so the Cowboys will probably bounce back. Chicago’s pass defense eventually settled down in Detroit, and a more complete performance against the Dallas pass offense will give the Bears a chance to get over .500 at the expense of the Cowboys.

49ers at New Orleans: This is a tough two-game swing for the 49ers, but at least they will be indoors after losing on the last snap in bad Baltimore weather. The Saints got a solid performance from the offensive line in Atlanta on Thanksgiving, giving up no sacks in 31 dropbacks. Needless to say, New Orleans will be getting a much stiffer challenge from San Francisco’s elite pass rush.

Chiefs at New England: It’s the rematch of the 2018 AFC Championship! 1 The Chiefs had no problem with Oakland’s pass rush in a significant AFC West victory, while New England’s defense was absolutely embarrassed in Houston. The Chiefs lost twice to the Patriots last season, but Kansas City QB Patrick Mahomes gave them seven TD passes in the process. I fully expect the Chiefs to put an end to New England’s home win streak.

Seahawks at Los Angeles Rams: The Seahawks beat the Rams in Seattle in Week 5, a game that featured five lead changes. The Seahawks will be at a logistical disadvantage, and while it’s nice to have superior QB Russell Wilson, it’s hard to imagine the Rams getting smoked at USC yet again. Los Angeles has to realize the playoffs have basically started for them, so expect them to pull out all of the stops to win.

Giants at Philadelphia: The Eagles lost in Miami; I already went over how the Eagles won’t give us the blessing of eliminating the Cowboys. Expect all the boos if they can’t score on a sieve of a secondary or stop a turnover-prone rookie QB mentored by Eli Manning.
