Many of you know that I am from Philadelphia. Some of you think that being from Philadelphia automatically makes me an exclusive fan of the teams from there. A few of you actually pay attention and know that I have some teams that I’m “cool” with, a few obvious teams I have high percentile disdain for, and jokes for ALL OF YOU.
The only team I’m loyal to is the one that pays me! And I’ll be the first to tell you: loyalty is overrated. Don’t do dumb things in the name of loyalty, my friends.
I could probably go further in on this, but I have to loop back to Philadelphia. I’m from Philadelphia. In general, the Eagles are aight. It’s nice when they do well, whatever. But it is far more important to me that the Eagles beat the teams I need them to beat – which happens to be the rest of the squads they share their sorry division with.
Last week’s Weekly Review 1 precluded that the Eagles would let down in Dallas, especially after head coach Doug Pederson said the Eagles would win. Verdict: I know my city more than I love my city, fam.
Game was over after each team had the ball twice. The Eagles won the toss and elected to receive. You may be surprised to discover that this decision did not work out! The Eagles didn’t even make it out of their own territory before inappropriately named TE Dallas Goedert lost a fumble after a reception. Six plays later, WR Tavon Austin scored on a 20-yard rush, making Philadelphia CB Orlando Scandrick look helpless. 2 Philadelphia’s next “drive” was even worse, as Dallas DE Demarcus Lawrence beat Philadelphia RT Lane Johnson for a sack, forcing Philadelphia QB Carson Wentz to lose another fumble. This one set up the Cowboys in the red zone, and Dallas RB Ezekiel Elliott finished the drive in the end zone after two plays. Insurmountable lead established.
So now, the Cowboys are the only team in the division with a winning record at 4-3. This team lost in New York 3 to the Jets – the same Jets that had their QB admitting on national television that he was seeing ghosts against the New England Patriots this past Monday night. Believe in them if you want to! I have nothing else to say about the Eagles, as this season is looking real Dream Team-ish. The Giants have a turnover machine quarterback that is NOT Eli Manning, and this warms my heart. And Washington won’t even let their rookie quarterback on the field, despite a coaching change.
Imagine being a fan of one of these teams.

Looking ahead to Week 8
Open Dates – Baltimore, Dallas:
The Ravens have only played seven games, and yet QB Lamar Jackson’s 576 rushing yards already rank 27th all-time in a season. The all-time record for rushing yards per game in a season by a QB is 69.1, set in 1972 by Chicago QB Bobby Douglass; Jackson is at 82.3. Baltimore was 5-2 in both of their Super Bowl seasons, by the way. Keeping with the yards per game theme: Dallas WR Amari Cooper is up to a career-high 88.7 receiving yards per game this season. That’s the highest mark by a Dallas receiver since WR Terrell Owens averaged 90.3 receiving yards per game in 2007. The Cowboys have missed the playoffs the last three times that they started 4-3, including two seasons ago when they finished 9-7.
[REDACTED] at Minnesota: The rare dual #REVENGEGAME for both quarterbacks! Washington QB Case Keenum has won a game as Minnesota’s starting QB in the postseason, which is more than Vikings QB Kirk Cousins can say. But Keenum has 9 TD passes this season; Cousins has 10 TD passes in the last three games. Washington allows 4.4 yards per rush this season, which will be a problem against a Minnesota run game led by RB Dalvin Cook and his 5.5 yards per rush average.
Cardinals at New Orleans: When Arizona failed to win any of their first four games, the offensive line allowed at least three sacks in each game. Rookie QB Kyler Murray has only been sacked three times total during Arizona’s current 3-game win streak. The Cardinals will be challenged by New Orleans DE Cameron Jordan, who already has 7.0 sacks this season. The Cardinals have been poor in run defense, and New Orleans RB Latavius Murray is coming off of a 119-yard performance in Chicago that included two rushing TDs.
Panthers at San Francisco: Carolina got RB Christian McCaffrey some rest, and now he gets to come off the bye to face a San Francisco defense that hasn’t allowed a score to a RB yet this season.
Packers at Kansas City: Green Bay QB Aaron Rodgers is coming off the best game of his career, a perfect passer rating in 31 attempts while missing WR Davante Adams. Kansas City is actually one of five teams ranked in the top-ten of opponent passer rating that has at least 18 sacks. The Packers are also one of those five teams, however, and the Chiefs are expected to start QB Matt Moore instead of reigning MVP Patrick Mahomes (knee).
Dolphins at Pittsburgh: The Dolphins have only seven sacks in six games. The Steelers have allowed a league-low five sacks in six games. This is the Minkah Fitzpatrick #REVENGEGAME, but the Steelers are good for one appalling loss a season under head coach Mike Tomlin, so…
