I’m about to go to work now, but I had to write a short note this Friday morning congratulating my parents on their 25th wedding anniversary!
This is actually the first time that I will not be home in December, so I wanted to comment briefly on what their commitment to each other has meant to me. As some of you know, my 25th birthday is in 20 days. My parents have made their marriage work through good times and tough times for a quarter century; as long as I’ve been alive basically. The trials and tribulations my parents have been through with myself and my younger brother have made their bond that much stronger. They have been role models for me all of my life, and if I ever get myself together and start a family, I want to be as great as they have been to myself and Michael.
Many will wonder why I called this post “Three Dollars” … as a youngster, I used to be confused when my father told my mother repeatedly, “I paid three dollars!” Apparently, my parents had the opposite of a Kardashian wedding; I’m sure one or both of them can clear it up in the comments section. I asked my father what he and mom plan on doing for their Silver Anniversary. His response: “I don’t know, probably go out to dinner or something. You know, keep it simple.”
