This won’t be a gameplan as much as it is me setting up what the remainder of Week 12 means (since, you know, I’m already 0-1 … Atlanta’s freefall continues). I did pick five games on Neon Tommy this week, so make sure to check that out => NFL Week 12 Predictions
BYE: This week is the last of the regular season open dates. The Buffalo Bills, Cincinnati Bengals, Philadelphia Eagles, and Seattle Seahawks all won in Week 11, the Bills in shocking fashion. The Bengals, Eagles, and Seahawks all lead their respective divisions.
INTERCONFERENCE: Only two matchups this week: Panthers at Dolphins, Colts at Cardinals. Carolina is coming off of a short week, and I think the Dolphins will continue their awkward playoff push if they can take care of the ball. The Bruce Arians Bowl will be a nice barometer for Colts QB Andrew Luck – he’s done well on the road already against one former mentor (Jim Harbaugh).
INTRACONFERENCE: Six games on this front. The Jets are seeking their first road win against the Ravens – first to 20 probably wins. The Buccaneers are at Detroit, and I am intrigued by the matchup between Revis Island and Megatron. The Bears are coming off a big win in overtime, and now they go to Saint Louis as the Rams come off their bye. The Tennessee Titans have not been good lately; they travel to Oakland to face the similarly 4-6 Raiders. The biggest game of the week may be the Wes Welker Bowl, Broncos at Patriots – I felt like this would be the Broncos’ first loss of the season back in August. Monday Night Football pits two “Sound the Alarms” quarterbacks against each other as the San Francisco 49ers travel to Washington to face the Redskins.
DIVISION: After the Saints swept the Falcons on Thursday Night Football, five division matchups remain. The 4-6 Browns are hosting the 4-6 Steelers in their first matchup of the season, and I feel like the Browns will make the big plays defensively that the Steelers struggle with. The Packers host the Vikings in a rematch from October – the Vikings haven’t won outdoors since 2011. The Texans and Jaguars play today and in 11 days – losing to the Jaguars would be the final nail in Houston head coach Gary Kubiak’s head coaching coffin this season. The Kansas City Chiefs are hosting the San Diego Chargers in their first matchup of the season as both teams are looking to recover from losses to the Broncos (with San Diego also trying to break a three game losing streak). And in my biggest game of the week, the Dallas Cowboys are coming off the bye and going for the sweep against the New York Giants – New York’s secondary has allowed 0 TDs and 7 INTs during their four game winning streak, but they are facing an actual starting QB this week.
