Last week, I told you that City Year’s Spring Break: Destination Education event was going to be a big deal.
Spring Break: Destination Education
Well, it WAS. Held last Saturday night at the Sony Studios in Culver City, this was a fundraiser event to celebrate City Year Los Angeles while inviting the stars out. Rather than a dinner event, this was a party, featuring CYLA as the hosts and the main attraction. Sure, LMFAO and Keri Hilson were there. LMFAO invited all of us on stage, which was incredible, and Keri Hilson dedicated her whole performance to us.

My role in the event was rather simple. Sean and I ran the J Brand basketball interactive booth, one of several booths at the event. But just being there, having fun, mingling, “bursting forth” to do physical training (quite possibly my favorite thing to do in CY because it is like coming out of a tunnel onto a football field), and seeing our work recognized? Kind of a big deal.
