Reviewing NFL Week 15, including Pro Bowl 2020 picks

The Pro Bowl rosters will be announced Tuesday, just as this nondescript weekly post will publish!

88 players will be named to play. Several more will wind up being replacements and actually committing to play in the Pro Bowl, which will be on Sunday, January 26, 2020 at Camping World Stadium in Orlando. That game will not matter, but no one wants to be snubbed.

Everyone who makes my list by position in each conference will be a snub if they do not get named to play in the Pro Bowl one way or another. So here’s what my ballot would look like:

AFC

  • Baltimore QB Lamar Jackson
  • Cleveland RB Nick Chubb
  • Oakland FB Alec Ingold
  • Houston WR DeAndre Hopkins
  • Kansas City TE Travis Kelce
  • Kansas City RT Mitchell Schwartz
  • Baltimore RG Marshal Yanda
  • Buffalo C Mitch Morse
  • Los Angeles Chargers DE Joey Bosa
  • Buffalo DT Jordan Phillips
  • Pittsburgh OLB TJ Watt
  • Buffalo ILB Tremaine Edmunds
  • New England CB Stephon Gilmore
  • New England FS Devin McCourty
  • Kansas City SS Tyrann Mathieu
  • Kansas City K Harrison Butker
  • Tennessee P Brett Kern
  • Cincinnati KR/CB Brandon Wilson

  • Carolina RB Christian McCaffrey
  • San Francisco FB Kyle Juszczyk
  • New Orleans WR Michael Thomas
  • San Francisco TE George Kittle
  • Dallas RT La’el Collins

  • Minnesota FS Anthony Harris
  • Minnesota SS Harrison Smith
  • New Orleans K Wil Lutz
  • Seattle P Michael Dickson
  • New Orleans PR/WR Deonte Harris
  • Detroit ST/SS Miles Killebrew

TEAMS OF THE WEEK:

NE, BAL, HOU, KC
DAL, GB, NO, SEA

TOP PERFORMERS:

BAL pass offense (WR Seth Roberts)
SEA pass offense (WR Tyler Lockett)
NE offensive line (QB Tom Brady)
TB pass offense (WR Breshad Perriman)
GB pass rush (NT Kenny Clark)
KC pass defense (FS Juan Thornhill)
NYG run offense (RB Saquon Barkley)
HOU special teams (DE Angelo Blackson)
PHI run offense (RB Miles Sanders)
ARI run offense (RB Kenyan Drake)
MIN offensive line (QB Kirk Cousins)
JAX pass rush (DE Yannick Ngakoue)
DAL run offense (RB Ezekiel Elliott)
ATL offensive line (QB Matt Ryan)
BUF run defense (DT Jordan Phillips)
NO pass offense (WR Michael Thomas)

Looking ahead to Week 16

Bills at New England: The Patriots have a slumping offense. I’m fully prepared for the Bills to beat a Tom Brady team in New England for the first time ever.

Saints at Tennessee: Great win for New Orleans on Monday Night Football, but this will be a tough turnaround against a Tennessee team that has everything to play for in their home finale.

Cardinals at Seattle: I’m trolling a bit, but you already know how I feel about the NFC Least. Depending on how Saturday’s Rams-49ers game goes, a Seahawks win could clinch the NFC West.

Chiefs at Chicago: This will be the last time you see an AFC team face an NFC team until Super Bowl LIV.

Packers at Minnesota: The last time these two teams faced each other, Minnesota’s WRs had Kirk Cousins apologizing. Don’t expect much of a change.
