It’s the end of a tough week. Me personally? I’m fine. Nothing has happened to me or because of me that would make one feel bad. But I’m surrounded by stress, and despite my determination to remain positive through it all, I will admit that I do not have a whole lot to write home about, and that in itself may be a cause for my personal melancholy. Not much wrong combined with not much great: my life is balanced, but it comes in the form of a zero.
And then there’s Monday. There was a chance that I would produce some comment about Valentine’s Day that I would regret. But then I remembered: I haven’t actually commented on Valentine’s Day in a long time. About three years probably. And because I want to get this post out before Pacific midnight, I won’t do so tonight either. That might be a precursor to further comment after Valentine’s Day, but I don’t expect that I’ll have much to say about the day itself. After all, I have no plans for the day or anything. But I have been hinting all year that I wanted to write about relationships in general. I haven’t done that at all. I DID have to run a lesson (and a half) at my after school program on “Defining Relationships”. But the only memorable part of that lesson was probably when I held up two chairs to emphasize the fact that objects are related just as people are.
So we’ll see what I come up with tomorrow. I will say that I feel a little bit better going into the week, but it has more to do with the prospect of focusing on basketball (playing and following the NBA) than it does with anyone in LA (or the USA for that matter) raising my spirits significantly. Look for slightly more than these 320 words within 48 hours…
