June 2020 is my 120th month as a Los Angeles resident. My first month, back in July 2010, got off to an inauspicious start. In the wake of the conflict in America between law enforcement, how much they’re funded, and the repeated, egregious displays of severe misconduct, I honestly feel fortunate that I’ve stayed away from being a potential statistic.
For the media here: The Simpsons episode is from May 1995 (“The Springfield Connection”), while the track under it comes from the 1992 video game The Simpsons: Bart’s Nightmare. Sting started with The Police, so there’s that. Also, I don’t think they make the Salsa Verde Doritos anymore.
